Dr. Heather Fairbairn

Dr. Fairbairn was born and raised in Afton, MN and worked at Lakeland Veterinary Hospital while in high school. From that experience she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. In 1998 she graduated from the University of Minnesota and has since practiced in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. She also spent two years teaching general practice veterinary medicine at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Throughout her career she maintained close connection to Lakeland Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Johnson. In February 2017 Dr. Fairbairn purchased the clinic from Drs. Johnson and Drury as they entered a well deserved retirement. Dr. Fairbairn is keeping with the great tradtion of Lakeland Veterinary Hospital's compassionate care and bring a passion for dermatology, surgery and low stress handling of pets.

In her spare time Dr. Fairbairn enjoys camping and fishing with her family, hiking and has completed numerous marathons including Twin Cities and Grandma's. She has a teenage son and daughter as well as two cats, a Labrador Retriever, and a Cockapoo. Dr. Fairbairn enjoys time with her local church family and teaches classes at Five Oaks Church in Woodbury.

Dr. Blair Johnson

Dr. Johnson graduated in 1980 from the University of Tennessee and practiced in Oak Ridge, Tennessee for one year before moving to the Twin Cities. He and his wife, Jeanie, started Lakeland Veterinary Hospital in 1983. Dr. Johnson has had a lifelong compassion for animals and a strong fascination for medicine. Through continuing education and study, Dr. Johnson has maintained a high standard of preventive medicine, surgery and diagnostics at Lakeland Veterinary Hospital. During 35 years of practice, he has also developed special expertise in  ultrasound diagnostics.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Johnson can often be found with a musical instrument in his hands. He serves on worship teams with a variety of churches where he sings and plays his guitar, banjo or mandolin. Gardening, woodworking, fly fishing, camping, hiking, and cross-country skiing are among his favorite activities.
